I primarily work in Toronto. I don’t advertise rates because projects can differ greatly in their needs, effort, and time. I enjoy photography and will happily discuss your project in more detail once we connect.
I’ve been taking photos for most of my life. What began as a general interest when I was growing up is now a serious pursuit. Photography blends nicely with my scientific specialty in physics and measurement instrumentation. It’s a fun and useful skill to have developed. Although I post mostly nature photos to my website, I do events and other work too.
On the event side, I was recently the official photographer for a major Canadian science conference, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS) Congress in Toronto (June 2017). I’ve also done photography for science advocacy groups, e.g. panel discussion events in an academic-setting and the Toronto March for Science. I’ve also done photography for science outreach trips, e.g. a week-long trip to Iqaluit schools.
I’ve done extensive photography for the research teams I’ve been a part of. These photos have been used on the cover of science journals, fieldwork campaign communications, major media (e.g. Toronto Star, Le Devoir), and many public and scientific talks.
